Partner Marketing Intern: Optimizing Lead Tracking and Demand Generation Strategy
Problem:
Cisco’s Strategic Partner Marketing Team faced challenges in efficiently tracking leads, measuring partner performance, and scaling demand generation efforts. Without a streamlined approach to lead tracking and reporting, partner managers struggled to quickly access key metrics and optimize marketing strategies. Additionally, Cisco sought to enhance its co-sell and market-ready solutions strategy to drive greater engagement and revenue opportunities.
Solution:
As a Digital Marketing Intern, I played a key role in improving lead tracking, analytics, and demand generation by:
Designing a New Lead Tracking Strategy: Collaborated with analytics and insight experts to develop and implement a new lead tracking system for Cisco’s Strategic Partner Marketing Team. This system is now actively used by the Cisco Global Partner Marketing Center of Excellence to optimize partner engagement and performance measurement.
Developing a Marketing Dashboard for Strategic Partners: Worked closely with Partner Managers and Directors to uncover insights and business-critical needs, leading to the creation of a marketing dashboard. This tool enabled the team to quickly access and report key performance metrics for each of their covered partners, improving decision-making and efficiency.
Executing a Scalable Demand Generation Strategy: Assisted in building and launching a new demand generation campaign for Cisco’s Co-Sell and Market-Ready Solutions. The campaign reached over 9,000 contacts, resulting in seven immediate opportunities within the first month, with the potential to scale to over 30 partners in FY22.
Impact: My contributions enhanced Cisco’s ability to track leads, measure partner performance, and scale demand generation efforts. The new lead tracking strategy is now a core part of the Partner Marketing Center of Excellence, providing long-term value. The marketing dashboard streamlined key metrics reporting, empowering Partner Managers with real-time insights. Additionally, the demand generation campaign demonstrated strong early results, driving new opportunities and setting the foundation for scalable partner engagement.
